woo, thanks for this! I notice that the map_make symbol was removed
from libkres.so in commit f821e6882b582b20fed8ec6106ad167dd680d9bf.
in the future, i recommend bumping the ABIVER (in config.mk) directly in
the same commit that triggers an SONAME bump (like this one) -- that is,
in any commit that removes and existing symbol, or that changes the
arguments or semantics of an existing symbol.
If the result of that is that the SONAME gets bumped multiple times
between releases, that's OK -- there's no harm in skipping numbers there
:)
