that's true. We are aware of this.
Knot DNS 2.0 is not intended to replace Knot DNS 1.6 immediately. We expect
that the users who require real stability, will stick to the 1.6 for some
time. That's why we decided to make 1.6 a long-term support version, and
that's why we don't concern that much about new dependencies.
You should be able to compile Knot DNS on CentOS 7.
For CentOS 6, I backported the packages from Fedora. The packages are not
really clean and are unsupported. But we us it in Jenkins for testing. Maybe
it will help:
