Hi Roger, we have some preliminary work done on this topic. It's definitely not finished and will take more time as we're still in the design phase. We've also been discussing what data to collect, how to output them and how to configure the module or subsystem. We are cosidering the Bind's approach. How much preferable for you it would be if we'd copied Bind's statistics format? How about NSD's? How about JSON? Please bear in mind not all statistics make sense to collect and there are already tools that you can use to sample some traffic (see http://www.statdns.com/resources/).
