If the backend server was refusing to run at all, could it have something to do with CORBA
technology?
I have that problem with fred-adifd service on a test server I made recently. Restarting
does't seem to do the trick, it just can't start while other FRED services are
running.

Moeketsi

This is hard to say. The communication mediated through CORBA technology is quite complex
and the glitch could be in many components.
Maybe you hit some bug in this particular service triggered by high uptime. You may try to
read logs for fred-adifd if you will see something from last time this service responded
to CORBA calls.

It seems that’s all it needed, the error is cleared and daphne works
 fine now.
I wonder what could've caused the communication cut between the adifd
 and webadmin services.

Okay I shall restart the services and report back.
The set up is on a single server.

OK, in any case I'd suggest to restart both backend service (fred-
adifd) and also frontend service (fred-webadmin). If this doesn't help
we will need to investigate what is preventing the communication of
these two services. Is it running on single server or different
 servers?

 Jaromir

 Hi Moeketsi,
can you verify once again that fred-adifd service is running?

I am experiencing a bit of a problem here on daphne, out of

 conclusive, what could be happening?
