Hi Petur,
your answer is probably correct :)
our payment solution is following (it's prepaid model):
- we have an account in bank for each zone we manage (.cz
and .0.2.4.e164.arpa)
- we sent to registrars ID which they have to attach to all of their
payments
- we regulary scan these accounts for some new payments. this completely
depends on bank interface which differs from bank to bank. One of our
bank allows online access through http. Other bank is just sending an
email daily we need to parse.
- when we find some new money on our accounts we know registrar (from id
in payment) and zone (from bank account).
- all previous work is done by some special script that are probably
tight to our banking system
- we issue 'advance invoice' with information that this registrar paid
this money as a credit for registrations of domains in this zone. Then
we send this this invoice in PDF and XML form to registrar on his email.
This is done with these two commands:
fred-banking --credit registrarhandle zonefqdn price (create new
invoice)
fred-admin --invoice_archive (make PDF and send an email)
- at this moment registrar have credit in fred (it's stored as a part of
invoice). registrar can check credit through EPP (credit_info command)
- when registrar registers domain, we subtract the price of domain
(stored in price_list) from this credit. If there is no credit,
registration will fail (billing failure response) and registrar has to
send another money to our accounts.
- the same is for renew operation
- at the beginning of each month, we create what we call accounting
invoice. this invoice contain all operations of this registrar on that
zone for last month and how much money we subtracted from his credit.
this is again done using fred-banking script (this script have strange
interface and I hope we will soon move it's functionality into
fred-admin - or better into web administration interface). Again we send
this invoice to registrars.
Regards,
Jaromir

registrants can make payments to the cctld Manager using creditcard ?
