Hi Paulos,
openssl library is just one of dependencies in the chain. Some other
tools relies on openssl like for example apache. And some fred
components are build as apache modules. For that, it is hard to assess
what happen if you just upgrade one dependent library. If this is just
minor update done via system packaging tools I guess nothing should
happen. But if you download recent version, compile it and deploy I'm
quite sure many things will break. We always suggest to have a test
environment where upgrades can be installed first and when all tests
pass, it should be safe to repeat upgrade in production.

Jaromir

Hello,
One of our treasured old machines needs TLS version upgraded

handshake failures that have started to crop up.
This machine also runs FRED registry operations that we use for many

I would hence really like to find out in advance if upgrading TLS
version will break FRED.
Will upgrading openssl break FRED ?

Paulos
