I did a DROP on the old fred database, a CREATE fred database, restored the FRED
database from our .mw registry dump and then run this command as you recommended to
upgrade as you can see here below
This command fails earlier on the list of upgrade SQL files with the following error:
[root@ngoli2 paulos]#
[root@ngoli2 paulos]# su - postgres -c "/usr/sbin/fred-dbmanager upgrade"
/usr/sbin/fred-dbmanager: line 225: /tmp/aaa: Permission denied
2.15.0-2.16.0-ddl.sql Failed (check /tmp/aaa)
[root@ngoli2 paulos]#
[root@ngoli2 paulos]# cat /tmp/aaa
psql: FATAL: role "root" does not exist
[root@ngoli2 paulos]#
What next can I or should I do ?

we have updated documentation with currently available OS versions
which are Ubuntu 16.04, CentOS/RHEL 7, Fedora 28 and 29. I just
uploaded RPM packages fro CentOS/RHEL/Fedora and tested

These RPMs contain fix for the issue mentioned by Paulos.
We at the Malawi .mw registry have tested this FRED installation on
Fedora 29. The basic
installation went well without any errors and the FRED registry
servers started well without
any problems with successful operations for both web interfaces for
admin and whois However, when we tried to load out registry
configuration and
database we faced 2 problems
as follows:
1. httpd failed to reload complaining about a read denied AVC error
on certificate files in
/usr/share/fred-mod-eppd/ssl - a search on this error showed that it
was being caused by
selinux - the error went away when we set selinux to permissive
I believe that you should be able to fix this even without disabling
selinux. You can try this command:
semanage fcontext -a -t httpd_sys_content_t
"/usr/share/fred-mod-eppd/ssl(/.*)?"
2. fred-dbmanager upgrade failed at
2.34.0-2.35.0-02-superuser-dump-table.sql Failed (check /tmp/aaa)
and
# cat /tmp/aaa
gives
psql: FATAL: role "root" does not exist
It would be great if NIC.CZ could finalise the database upgrade phase
so that we can load
our database successfully.
